About Us

Meet Vivi Myslik Jorgensen, KPA CTP

Owner, Operator & Professional Certified Dog Trainer at VivaPaws Training & Behavior

Vivi graduated with distinction from the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy (KPA), and earned the designation, KPA CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner). She is one of a few Professional trainers in South Carolina, and the first in Charleston, to hold the designation, KPA CTP. Realizing that Dog Training as a profession is entirely unregulated, she opted for one of the best and most respected educational programs in the industry. Born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark, Vivi now resides in Saint George, South Carolina with her own Miniature Schnauzer, Milo and loves helping dogs and their people live balanced and happy lives together. Vivi is especially passionate about helping dogs with behavioral issues. Her interest in this field springs from her interest and studies of Psychology many years ago. Because she realized her main interest was not people, but animals, she now focuses on specializing in canine behavior and consulting, thereby combining human and animal psychology in a way. Vivi has had cats and dogs all her life and has worked extensively with shelter dogs and dog training classes. Her ultimate goal with VivaPaws is bringing positive dog training, and clicker training in particular, to the masses. Whatever your financial allowance, all dogs and their people should have access to a professional trainer to help make life go easier for both four legged and two-legged.

Positive, Encouraging & Compassionate

Vivi shares her knowledge and skills with her clients in a positive, encouraging, and compassionate way. Within a very short time, she is able to build a trusting relationship through repetitive success with the most effective, safe, and fun communication of clicker training.  Vivi helps dogs learn new alternatives to replace the undesirable or problematic behaviors that are coming between them and their humans. With clicker training there is a shift in perspective, and working with Vivi can open people’s minds and hearts to what their dog is actually capable of. In comparison to other reward-based training methods, the click very distinctly tells the animal which behavior earned the reward, and builds confidence, creativity, and enthusiasm in both handler and dog.

Continuing Education: A necessary priority for Your Dog's Behavioral Well-Being

Vivi is committed to continuing education and to specializing in behavior and consulting. She keeps up with the latest scientific studies and literature. She is Certified in Pet First Aid and CPR.  Furthermore, Vivi is a Proud Member of the Force-Free Association, Pet Professional Guild (PPG), a Premium Member of The Karen Pryor Academy (KPA), Supporting Member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), as well as a Member of APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers).

Our Training Philosophy

"We believe all dogs are unique. They deserve our utmost respect. They have come to live among us, not knowing what is expected of them. It is our responsibility to guide, teach, and provide for them. To communicate in a language they can understand. Dogs do not need to be dominated or controlled. They need to be understood and treated with love and compassion. Let them show you what they are capable of - not because they are told to - but because they choose to... Give them a chance to amaze you!"

Our Mission

"We aim to provide clients with foundational skills to build and enhance a harmonious and collaborative human-canine relationship, built on mutual trust, compassion & effective communication."

VivaPaws Is The Right Match For You & Your Dog If:

  • You want your dog to be a family member and live inside your home.

  • You want to be able to communicate with your dog in a language she understands.

  • You want a trainer whose focus and approach is helping you understand your dog's behavior and how to change it.

  • You believe in training your dog through positive, reward-based methods.

  • You want a trainer, who is highly qualified, and who can set both you and your dog up for success.

  • You are willing to be patient and compassionate with your dog.

  • You understand that training your dog will require small steps, and lots of repetition, toward a desirable goal; there is no ‘quick fix’ in training behavior.

  • You want a well-mannered dog who is a joy to live with.

My 3 Schnauzers, Who Inspired Me To Become A Certified Dog Trainer

Rufus & Balou

Rufus and Balou: My two beloved dogs in Denmark. Sadly, Rufus passed away, at nearly 11 years of age, in October 2017. They are both with me in my heart each and every day....VivaPaws' logo is designed from a personal tattoo with R & reverse B surrounding the paw print. Milo: My first American dog and training partner at KPA. Our bond, through clicker training, has grown very strong. He is my best friend and soulmate in my new country. I dedicate my business to these three amazing spirits. They are my heart and inspiration, and the reason I am where I am today.

“The dogs and puppies in Charleston, SC are so lucky to have access to a certified professional dog trainer like Vivi at VivaPaws. She is a true educated professional who prioritizes the emotional well-being of each dog she works with while supporting the dog and owner in developing an even happier and more fulfilling relationship with each other than before.”
